Terms of Use

1.  In these terms and conditions:
1.1  "The Commencement Date" means [  ];
1.2  "The Abbey" means [  ];
1.3  "The Departure Date" means [  ];
1.4  "The Deposit" means [25% if more than 10 weeks to the start of the hire period];
1.5  "The Holiday Period" means the period from 4pm on the start date until 11am on the departure date;
1.6  "The Fee" means £[  ];

2.  To confirm the booking the deposit must be enclosed with the completed and signed booking form. Upon clearance of the cheque, the booking is confirmed.

3.  You, together with those other persons listed on the booking form, are permitted to occupy the Abbey for the Holiday Period for the Fee, payment of the balance of which is required at least 10 weeks prior to the commencement of the Holiday Period, together with use of the furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glasses, bedding and towels as set out in the inventory, which you must sign on the Commencement Date.

4.  Cot hire, unless otherwise stated, flights, car hire, holiday insurance and transport to and from the airport, railway or coach station are not included.

5.  The Holiday Period will commence at 4pm on the Commencement Date and you, together with those persons listed on the booking form must have vacated the Abbey, with all your effects, by 10am on the Departure Date.

6.  Cheques, which should be made payable to Eileen Willey and sent to Greystones, Oakwood, Hexham, NE46 4LF, United Kingdom, should allow 5 days for clearance. PLEASE WRITE YOUR NAME, ENQUIRY OR BOOKING REFERENCE NUMBER AND FULL ADDRESS ON THE BACK OF THE CHEQUE.

7.  The Owner will issue to you 1 set of keys to the Abbey on the Commencement Date and you must return them to the Owner on the Departure Date. If you lose a key the Owner/agent will replace it upon your payment of the costs of having a replacement cut.

8.  You and those other persons listed on the booking form must;
8.1  allow the Owner or his agent to enter the Abbey to inspect the state of it, on prior appointment save in emergency when immediate access must be granted;
8.2  keep the Abbey and the furniture, kitchen equipment, glass, crockery, bedding and towels clean and in good condition and be responsible for repairing any damages;
8.3  not cause any damage to the walls, doors or windows of the Abbey;
8.4  not use the Abbey or allow its use for any dangerous, offensive, noxious, noisy, illegal or immoral activities or carry on there any act that may be a nuisance or annoyance to the Owner or to the occupants of neighbouring properties.

9.  You and those other persons listed on the booking form must not use the Abbey except for the purpose of a holiday during the Holiday Period. No other persons whatsoever are permitted to stay in the Abbey unless agreed by the Owner in writing.

10.  You and those other persons listed on the booking form must comply with the set out in the notice on the back of the door of the Abbey and any other regulations notified to the Licensee from time to time during the Holiday Period and ensure that they are observed by all occupants of the Abbey.

11.  You and those other persons listed on the booking form must not do anything or permit anything to be done that would or may result in the insurance of the Abbey becoming void or voidable or the premium on it being increased.

12.  You may be required to vacate the Abbey before the end of the Holiday Period by the Owner/Agent giving you notice only in the event of you being in material breach of the terms of this agreement or by reason of fire or some other catastrophic event of the type covered in a comprehensive insurance policy. In the case of determination otherwise than by reason of your default the Owner shall return to you the appropriate proportion of the Fee attributable to the then unexpired remainder of the Holiday Period.

13.  Any notice to be served on you under this agreement may be given during the Holiday Period by delivery through the letterbox or putting under the front door of the Abbey and shall be deemed to have been received upon the expiration of 24 hours after service.
